Skill Standard Unit

Skill standards are performance specifications that identify the skill, knowledge and competencies an individual needs to acquire in order to succeed in the workplaces. It is developed by the Occupational Skill Standard Unit under the management of NSTB. The development of skill standards is based upon the guidelines of Asia and Pacific Skill Development Program/ International Labor Organization (APSDEP/ILO). There are altogether 5 skill levels in Nepal including the elementary one. The Occupational Skill Standard (OSS) is reviewed occasionally by the technical experts of the Occupational Unit considering the national and international norms and standards.
